Who's idea was this?

Well, we're closing in on our first hour, and this is my fourth post. If I keep up this pace without sleeping, that's 96.

Wow. This might be harder than I thought. I was planning to sneak some sleep in there at some point, but it might have to wait.

This is actually my third attempt at a blog; I wrote one for SouthCoastToday somewhere in the 2006 range, I think, and it lasted around 7-8 months. Then I did one on my own, which lasted until I found out my wife was pregnant and decided to give it a rest.

Now, my son is 2 1/2 years old (baby picture) ....

... and here's another shot at it. Hope you enjoy.

Burritos are done.

Snack No. 1: Get in my mouth

Wow. I've been blogging for 40 minutes, and I am FAMISHED!

So, what to eat? I have a fridge full of stuff. If I had 1,000 readers, I'd put up a poll and eat whatever the masses suggest, but I don't, so it's up to me.

I'm thinking about a Tina's Red Hot burrito, a product that I've enjoyed a minimum of 40,000 times in my life and never lets me down. For $2, you get 4-5 of them, they are packed with protein and not that much fat. I think you could live off them for a good long time, although your digestive tract would probably be quite displeased with you.

Their web site is kind of comical. Check out this picture.

First off, they changed their packaging about a year ago, but their promo photo that anchors the site's main page there has the old look. At no point in the last 12 months could someone take a photo of the new burritos?

Second, the burrito pictured looks absolutely nothing like the ones you actually receive. The real ones have no discernible meat chunks, just a delicious paste designed to simulate meat.

Mmmm.

Simulated meat.

Back in 5 minutes.

Technical problems, love em

I wanted to launch this promptly at midnight, but for some reason the time stamps are all 45 minutes behind regular time.

This is irritating me beyond the point where it should. The software is telling me the right time when I'm editing, but the posts are wrong.

Also, my scanner gadget that imports photos and video is not working. Hopefully I can get this fixed so I can provide new photos and video to delight and amaze.

I also can't seem to upload old videos, or at least within a reasonable 30-minute upload period ... what is going on here!?

Oh well. As I wait to figure things out, here's a bad photoshop I have of Barney Fife and DeWayne Wayne as Jedis.

And off we go ...

OK. 100 posts in 24 hours. No sweat.

We're not off to the smoothest start in human history here at 12:02 a.m.; the regular blog software I'm going to be using has crashed to pieces, leaving me scrambling for a backup blog site (this) that will change over when the other one is fixed.

Yes!

I am fresh off a luxurious three-hour nap, one of those where you close your eyes and open them what feels like a split second later having slept. I'm a great napper. One night at work I got so tired that I slipped away from my desk, drove to a parking lot in Fairhaven I knew to be safe but deserted and passed out. I woke up 45 minutes later, started the car and drove back, and no one would have been the wiser if I hadn't thought the whole experience was so novel that I had to tell everyone.

This is part of my problem in life. I always want to tell everyone everything, hence this blogging nonsense.

So, you tell me something. The first person to comment will get a copy of "Decider" by Dick Francis, signed personally by me. If you've never treated yourself to one of his plucky British mysteries set in the world of horse racing, than hurry with a post of no less than 100 words and you will be immersed in his wonderous equine world.

And having my signature on it ups the value from 12 to 13 cents.

I have seriously read like 50 of these books. I love horse mysteries. In fact, if I were a tattoo guy I'd consider the cover of "Decider," or maybe the character from the Iron Maiden album covers.

Anyhoo ... leave me some love.

99 posts of blather on the wall, 99 posts of blather ... you take one down, you read it around ...
